FROLI receives honour for product design at the red dot design award 2008

“Great sleep – a new attitude“

The company FROLI Kunststoffwerk, based in Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock, was distinguished with an international renowed price once again. The innovative frolexus_Viado bed system was able to convince the international jury of the red dot design award 2008 in the category "product design". The red dot, the international seal of design quality, is awarded to products, that distinguish itself by excellent design quality. In addition to that the jury reviews and evaluates the submitted products according to criteria such as degree of innovation, functionality, formal quality, ergonomics, symbolic and emotional value, and even self-explanatory aspects of a product.

Accordingly, the patented frolexus_Viado bed system was not only awarded with respect to the design; also the “espacially successful detailed solutions“ were rewarded with the additive "honourable mention" by the international expert jury of the Design Centre North Rhine Westphalia.

The idea: each single spring element of the healthy and comfortable bed foundation can be adjusted individually in the firmness degree through easy rotating and audible engaging (the click) – in this case the slogan is taken word by word: “Great sleep – a new attitude“.

The highlight of the bed system: The customer receives his entirely individual attitude card for his bed. Partners in double bed can adjust their sleep side individually as well as persons whose living conditions, sleeping habits or preferences change. frolexus_Viado is also available in many exclusive adjustment variants up to 4-engined version with infrared remote control and massage unit.

In addition to internationally outstanding design FROLI receives also the confirmation of belonging to the best in this branch of business with the coveted trophy, the red dot. The official award ceremony of the red dot design awards will take place on the 23 June in the Essen opera house with more than 1,200 internationally loaded guests out of design, culture, economy and politics. Then the awarded product will be issued in the breathtaking scenery of the former coal-mine „Zollverein“ in the red dot design museum in Essen. Since 2001 the museum belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage Site and counts more than 140,000 visitors annually.

In January the now awarded product was presented at the International Furniture Fair in Cologne the first time. It has already found several overseas customers and will be launched to selected frolexus_trade partners during the FROLI dealer symposium in the coming month. FROLI was already distinguished with several international awards, e.g. “red dot design award 2006“, “interzum award 2005“, twice as “product of the year 1998 + 2004“ by Fachverband Kunststoffkonsumwaren, and for two times nominated for “Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany 2006 + 2007“. Also in down under beds from Germany are distinguished: “home beautiful awards - product of the year", “FIAA Australia 2000" at the Furnitex fair in Melbourne, plus the US-magazines "Sail magazines" and "Blue Water Sailing" for comfortable boat beds.
